If You Can Dance Go "Swish Swish" With Katy Perry

Katy Perry has a new album, Witness, and has announced that she is looking for you to be a star in her new music video for “Swish Swish” featuring Nicki Minaj. Katy is partnering with DanceOn, a company that was co-founded by Madonna to celebrate and influence pop culture through the art of dance.  Nigel Lythgoe, the creator/executive producer of “American Idol,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” and “The X Factor.”

Dancers are to upload their choreography for the song on Youtube, Instagram, or Musica.ly by using the hashtag #SwishSwishChallenge. Also, they should make sure to tag @katyperry and @danceon.  Katy will select who will be in the music video. The challenge will end on July 12 at 11:59 p.m. The video will shoot later this month. The stipulations are that all dancers must be at least 13 years old and must live in the United States.

Katy Perry has pre-released a music video for “Swish Swish” on Youtube and has already earned more than 14 million views.  Katy has been teased for her suggestive dance moves as of late, so maybe this challenge would add that certain something that she needs to get off of the bandwagon.

Witness is Katy’s fifth studio album.  Her last album, Prism, was released in 2013, so this is her first album in three years after taking a break to re-energize herself.  The electropop album features appearances from Skip Marley and The Migos.  The album has hit number 1 on US Billboard 200 chart.

Katy Perry has announced her US and international tour dates.  Her US tour will begin September 7th in Columbus Ohio.  Go to her website for more information www.katyperry.com.
